The ideas of the post-socialist pioneers of Bulgarian folk music, Teodossi Spassov, Ivo Papasov and Petar Ralchev, meet on stage with classical Western compositions by Bruno Mantovani, Johann Pachelbel, and Igor Stravinsky, under the gaze of Guillaume de Machaut and “grandfather” J.S. Bach, in a hybrid concert.

Accordionist Maria Dafka, exploring her Balkan roots and her cultural identity, gets trapped in Baroque music. In her search, the kaval opens up pathways that lead her to the female nocturnal song of Aemos.
